Vizit analyzed imagery from the top-searched LED TV products on Amazon to rank the effectiveness of each brand's imagery with online shoppers.
An AI analysis of hundreds of top-searched LED TV product hero and carousel images on Amazon surfaced the most effective product hero and carousel images for online shoppers, as well as distinct visual trends.
While most hero images featured the LED TV screens, a few included a full-length remote control immediately to the left or right of the television set.
Hero images showing televisions displaying pictures of sports, specifically action shots of NFL football, earned high Vizit scores. However, this only worked well when the screen image was a closeup of the football player on the field.
Colorful screens dominated the hero images, and many of the highest performing visuals used natural landscapes to show off a television’s picture quality. Abstract artwork was also popular but did not consistently earn high scores.
Carousel imagery that showed full-width views of the back of the television performed surprisingly well. Close-up visuals providing a comprehensive look at the included ports were also popular with the U.S. Gen Pop audience.
There was limited lifestyle imagery among the LED TV carousels, and the visuals that did earn top scores contained some more unique scenarios. Images depicting televisions in bathrooms or models taking yoga classes from the comfort of their homes were only some of the distinctive options.
With smart televisions ubiquitous, it’s no surprise that most shoppers want to see their streaming options shown via carousel imagery. Many brands, including Vizio and Hisense, garnered high scores by sharing tv screens with popular streaming apps present.
